The emails have been pouring in asking about our workshops for next year. We are super excited to announce our 2012 workshop will be Friday, March 2, 2012!! There will be 8 spots available. The cost of the workshop will be $1800. It will take place in here in Utah, the first part at Katie’s studio and the second part at Skye’s studio. Things that will be covered: lighting, equipment, working with newborns, toddlers and children, editing and workflow and basically anything else that attendees want to know. We will have models of all ages at both studios, but will be working mostly with newborn models. The workshop runs from 9 am to 9 pm, lunch and dinner will be provided, as well as transportation between studios.
Registration opens December 1st at 9 am. $900 deposit is required to reserve your spot, the deposit is non refundable. The remaining $900 will be due February 17th, two weeks before the workshop. This will be the only workshop for 2012. We have lots of personal plans for 2012 so it’s going to be a busy one for both of us!

To reserve your spot, you can either paypal the deposit to littleonesworkshop@gmail.com on December 1st at 9 am, OR you can send a postdated check (Dec 1st) made out to Skye Johansen to the following address. The check can be mailed anytime starting now. Please send us an email letting us know you will be sending a check.

Thanks to all those that attended our workshop! It was a great success. One thing that made it great was a short focus on the business side of photography by a business guy that has helped me with our business for a while. He created a website that teaches photographers how to master the business side of their business and it is totally free. He seriously knows his stuff and you may want to check it out at www.businessforphotography.com.

Today at noon MST we will be opening registration for our four remaining workshops. The dates are April 29th and 30th and August 5th and 6th. The fee is $1800 for a ONE day workshop, $900 is due to hold your seat, the other $900 is due two weeks before the workshop date. You can pay by credit card, check or paypal.

Please include your name, phone #, address and your website/blog. Also specify how you would like to pay: cc, check or paypal and Mandy will write you back and help with your payment. Things will get a little crazy, so be patient, emails will be answered in the order they are received AT NOON, not before. If you are really wanting to go, please don’t hesitate! Our last workshop was sold out in just minutes and we had a lot of sad people that didn’t get in! We will not be doing any more workshops this year.

The workshop is 12 full hours. We will be covering lighting, equipment, workflow, editing, etc. We are open books so we will be answering any and all questions! We have plenty of models and brand new set ups for shooting stations, where we will be going over posing of newborns, getting them and keeping them asleep, keeping a baby’s attention, getting natural expressions out of  children etc. We show you how to get great pictures out of camera, so you don’t have to spend so much time editing later on! Our workshop attendees from last weekend were very surprised how little we do in photoshop to finish the pictures up! We need to keep things simple!

Well we did it!!!! We pulled off our very first workshops last weekend!! We were both so nervous and stressed and then we met 20 absolutely amazing and sweet photographers and they helped put us at ease and we had SO MUCH FUN! Honestly we really had no idea how much fun WE would have, we were just trying to make sure everything was perfect for the photographers that came from all over the states to learn. Everyone said we were going way overboard for the workshop and we kind of did, but I don’t think any of the girls were complaining about all the fun stuff we had in store for them. We had great models, great food and perfect “students”!! Here’s a few images from the weekend…….so many adorable newborns (some that gave us a run for our money and showed that they don’t always nice to us……) and their sweet moms that were so willing to bring their brand new babies to us and so many adorable kids that stood for very long periods of time to get pictures done by all the photographers. After the amazing success of these two workshops, we are crazy excited about the next ones coming up!

All the amazing ladies came from all over! Florida, West Virginia, New York, Boston (I can’t spell the state so…..) Texas, Idaho, California, Nevada and lots of other places! We were seriously so lucky to have so many fun girls in each group! We will miss them all!
